This is a highly limited edition bust of the legendary Glasgow Celtic goalscorer Jimmy McGrory . The piece which stands at 11 inches on it's mahogany base is cast in resin bronze by the artists own hand to ensure a work of the highest quality. Each piece is etched with the edition number and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity.The edition will number no more than 150 ensuring the piece will become a seriously collectible piece of football memorabilia in the future. Attached to the base is a brass plaque with the enscription : Jimmy McGrory 1904 - 1982. James Edward McGrory was born on the 26 April 1904 in Garngad, Glasgow and was widely regarded as one of the greatest Celtic players of all-time.He joined Celtic from St. Rochs in 1922, before going on loan to Clydebank for the 1923 - 1924 season. Between 1922 and 1937, he scored 397 league goals for Celtic (as well as 13 while on loan at Clydebank).He was the Scottish league's top goalscorer in 1926/27, 1927/28 and 1935/36. Over the course of his career he amassed 550 goals in total, including 410 goals in 408 league games, making him the most prolific scorer in British football history.After leaving Celtic he joined Kilmarnock as manager before returning as Celtic manager in 1945 - a position he held for nearly 20 years, before Jock Stein took over as manager in 1965.
