This Piece was commissioned by D.C. Thompson &
Co. Ltd.(the publishers of the Dandy and Beano comics, amongst others)
to mark the 60th anniversary of the publication. Desperate Dan has,
since the very first issue, been a favourite character with generations
of readers and indeed is still a Dandy regular to this day. The
work was cast in resin-bronze,finished with a black patinating wax
and stood, on it's mahogany base at around 34cm high. The figurine
was one of a certificated limited edition which would number no more
than 350.
